What do you know about him?

I would like to write a few lines about "Torn Curtain" a Hitchcock film where Paul Newman is the main character.
"Torn Curtain" is not precisely one of the best films of Hitchcock and was criticized, but it’s full of great ideas and full of life, and despite the rumours with the film, Hitchcock did not fail.
Hitchcock got the idea for "Torn Curtain" when he heard the true story of two British diplomats who had defected Russia. The theme of "Torn Curtain" deals with the average man feeling what it’s like to be a spy and what a dirty business it is.
At the time of "Torn Curtain", Paul Newman was already an established actor and an international star. He had been trained at the Actor’s Studio. His teacher Lee Strasberg once said that if Paul Newman weren’t so handsome, he could have been as good actor as Brando was. It wasn’t in Newman’s nature to speak up. In fact, he was a very shy person and quite unsure. That’s why Newman had problems with the characterisation of his role in "Torn Curtain".
Years later after the release of "Torn Curtain", Hitchcock said that Newman was an actor who liked to do things on his own particular way, and he was fine with that.
