Hello everybody,

As all my classmates know, this year is my last year studying in Valencia. I’ve been here for 5 years studying Industrial Engineering at the ‘Universidad Politécnica de Valencia’. But the best thing is coming because next year I’ll be In Poland doing my Final Project- Master Thesis- and I’m sure it’ll be an amazing experience.

But what I want to do here is to give you some information about my degree. If you like Mechanics, Energy, Electronics, Robotics, Environment and a lot of other specializations this should be your final election because it is the most general technical degree and that's the reason why I think it has something for everyone.

In my case I’ve chosen the specialization of Energy because I’m really concerned about the environmental problem we’re suffering nowadays and I’d like to work hard to find solutions and to promote changes in this branch of the Engineering so that we achieve a better world to live.

Any doubts? contact me through this blog. I'd be pleased to help you and to give you much more information about my degree.

Have a nice day!

hello,
I want to talk you about how important the sport is for our bodies. It woul be good to keep fit but also to feel well.
How often we soll do sport it depends on the age of a person, but for joung people I'll recomend to practice it every day, at least for an hour.
It would be great just going for running, cycling or play any team-sport every week.
In my case, I swim for two hours every morning just before the day begins and I can tell you how benaficial is for the organism.
Swimming is a complete sport where you move all the muscles of your body, with the practice you learn to control your respiration and to move your body into the water as profitablely as you need.
After these two swimming hours in the early morning you can begin the day plenty of energy and go to class or to work and I'm sure that the day would be shorter and relaxed for you.
Just try it, but always at the begining do it only two days a week and then in a progressive way increase the frequency and the intensity.

Hello, today I would like to talk to you about the truths and lies about ovule donation.

Assisted reproduction is sometimes the only way many women have to have a baby. In some cases their ovules are not good enough to be inseminated, so they have to turn to other women to get healthy ovules.

In the last years the donation of ovules has became a popular practice. Only in Valencia there are over five clinics where you can donate your ovules. Those clinics are trying to gain donors, which are always between 18 and 25 years old, for the task. The donors are paid from 600 to 1200 euro for their reproductive cells, and in economic crisis this is a great attraction for students and other people who need money.

The biggest problem about the donation is that it’s becoming a commercial exchange and for the donors it is more important to earn money than the fact they are helping another woman. In fact, clinics help promoting this mentality: they pay great amounts of money and they say ‘there’s no problem if you donate your ovules’. The real thing is that there are many problems, such as hyper-stimulation or even the death, and clinics usually avoid to say that. If they pay so much money, there must be some kind of risk. Don't you think so?

Good information is essential for both donors and recipients.

Think about it and don’t be ‘catched’ by one of those clinics.

What I want to do today is to talk to you about the team work.

Most of us are working with colleagues, but I ´m sure that more than once we have had problems with the tasks organization and with not getting our objetives.
The team work is also important to avoid wasting your time and the duplicities.

The main points are two:
- Can we do a distribution of all the tasks or should we share some of them?
- How should we choose "who" does "what"?

In my opinion, there are tasks that everybody have to do. I´m talking about that ones which everybody dislike and that not need a specialization or a knowllege. These tasks should be shared by all the team. The rest of them could be divided, but always trying to do your best to help your colleagues getting theirs. The most important thing is to have a group concience.

And what should we do to get the best work organization? I think that we have to know very well the people´s skills we are working with. It´s very important to find out their likes and their dislikes too and, finally, what they are expecting of their future in the company.

I want to finish by saying that everybody like being part of a group, and for this only reason they are going to prefer working
in a team than alone. So try to have a profit of this human beings condition!

I THINK English today has become a usesful system to travel around the world, in a more efficient and undestanding way to try to know other PEOPLE and cultures. WEll I THINK english sometimes is very difficult, because LATIN people enyoy usually, spelling all complete wovels, consonants and full sentences, but anglo-saxon culture on the other hand is used to speaking by linking words up and down in order to get used to TALKING as much as possible in a shorter way.Spanish studentes for example should be training in the ENGLISH mental rules, to avoid mistakes and bad collocations words at all.

--SECONDLY, WE ARE WHAT WE THINK AND TALK.

--TRYING TO READ, TALK, SPEAK AND THINKING EN ENGLISH, IS THE ONLY WAY to improve OUR ENGLISH IN AN VALUABLE WAY.

--THIRDLY.- CALM DOWN, DON,T WORRY ABOUT ERRORS AND MISTAKES, WE WOULD LIKE TO GET USED TO BEING SELF-CONFIDENT ABOUT OURSELVES TO LIKE THE PLEASUE OF VERY BEATIFUL VALUABLE TIME TO LOVE ENGLISH.

PLEASE NEVER LET YOU DOWN ABOUT SPEAKING ENGLISH AT ALL I HOPE SO.

NEVER DON,T FED UP ABOUT STUDYING ENGLISH, WOULD BE THE PERFECT SLOGAN TO FALL IN LOVE WITH WILLIAN SHAKESPARE,S LANGUAGE IN THE END.

POSSIBLY LISTENING ENGLISH HAS BECOME VERY BORING FOR LATIN STUDENTS BECAUSE THERE BRAINS HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED TO GET USED TO LINKING AT ALL.

I`d like to explain you something about Rural Tourism, because your husband has told me that you were thinking on doing rural tourism in Cantabria next summer. I was talking with my best friend Laura who has studied tourism and she has especialized in Rural Tourism area.

Well, first, she has told me that you need to go to the Tourism Oficce in your city and you must compile all information possible about the place you want to go, in this case Cantabria. There, in the Tourism Oficce, you could plan your travel: the places you would like to visit, the Rural Accommodation where you will sleep and the playful activities you would like to do.

And finally, but very important too, is the transport. She has told me you must chose well the transport you will use to go there, because there are a lot of options and it would be quite good to chose the best one. She has told me that, in her opinion, the best option would be travelling by plane, because it is the cheapest and fastest means of transport.

I work as teacher in the Adult s school in my town. I have differents groups of students of differents educational needs .

But one that is more like me is a group of older people, the most are women, who never go to school when they was young. They tell me we never have had oportunities , because when we was children, we needed to work and we spent a civil war.
Sometimes they explain me how they played in their chilhood, or how they celebrating tradicional fetivities. In this moments I think
I'm learning things that I've never learned when I was studiying. We are both teacher and student.

Since 2000, there is at University of Valencia a new grade which is called Environmental Sciences. This grade gives a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to students for the environment's study.

Through 5 years, people who study this grade learn about very different subjects. In the first three years, the subjects are more general than at the end, for instance Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Phisics, Sociology, Laws, etc. These are very important because they build the basic knowledge for understand the most specific subjects of the last two years, such as atmospheric sciencies, alternative energies, natural resources protection or enrironmental impact evaluation.

The environmental scientist can have a lot of jobs, and can help this planet in very different ways.

Hello! Maria said me that this weekend she and her friends have been visiting the interior of Valencia. She told me that they was impressed when they arrived to the little town. She said that it'd been a very relaxed place, ideal for recharging energy and if you like to being in the wild.

They visited one cove "Don Juan's cove", it was a very interested place to go. They'd gone in car because it was more or less at 10 kilometers to the town. During the journey they have risen the mountain, and because of this, she said me, thet they'd found some curves.

The visit to the cave. There you will find all kinds of formations, some of them continue to grow. She insisted on the need to go to see them because they are worth.
This will be my next trip.

I’d like to talk you about a research work that it is being done in my laboratory at the University of Valencia. The base of the study is how climatic change can affect to the re-emergence of some diseases that have been considered under control or even eradicated.

We are studying the probability of the reintroduction of malaria in Spain. Until 1950 the Mediterranean coast was an endemic region, especially the humid zones like the Ebro delta and the Albufera in Valencia. The disease was eradicated using insecticides against the mosquitoes that transmit the parasite causing that disease. Nowadays, the increase of the temperatures and the decrease of rains, in addition to the high number of immigrants in Spain coming from endemic countries in Africa, could cause the reintroduction of the disease.

In order to determinate the level of risk that we have in the Mediterranean coast, we are carrying out entomologic studies, trapping and analysing the species of mosquitoes that live in this areas, and social studies, immigration rates and the exposition of people to mosquitoes bites. By these studies we will be able to predict if malaria will be a health problem in Spain in the future or if we do not have reasons to worry about it.

Hello everybody!

Today I would like to tell you my experiences about travelling with children. This can be exciting and carry wonderful memories for years to come… or it can end up with parents needing a break as soon as we return home. To be well organised, can help to alleviate some of the stress of travelling, for this reason I’m going to give you some advices that helped me in my travels with my children. I have to tell you I have three children of 8, 5 and 4, and we had visited not only different places of Spain, but Germany, Italy… in other words I thing I can speak with full knowledge of the facts.

The first thing you must bear in your mind is your child's normal schedule and try to keep to it if possible while you are travelling. This means feeding at their normal time, naps and other activities. Keep everything your child needs for the trip in your hand luggage; don’t put any special toy in the suitcase! During the trip give children activities at sensible intervals, not all the toys at once. Spread the entertainment out so you don't run out of ideas after the first hour.

Obviously, there are many things to plan to have a successful trip, but remember that this is only a post. To conclude I would like to give you one last advice: Lower your expectations, remember this is a holiday and you need to have fun too!

Hello,

This morning I want to write a short communication about climate change. This is a very popular subject as there have been a lot of meetings and political promises for reducing the impact of climate change. People are very sensitive to this problem because in the lapse of only one human life a lot of phenomena can be noticed: artic ice is defrosting, global temperature is raising, snow is becoming a rare event… In this case, I want to raise climate change in relation to animals and plants. How they are reacting?

Presumably, a lot of animals and plants will disappear. Unlike human beings, who have a lot of means and tools for fight against heat and cold, most of the species of the world have a narrow range of temperatures and humidity in which they can survive. It has been predicted that some of these species would survive if they are able to move along climate gradients, such as latitudinal (towards the poles) or altitudinal (towards the top of the mountains) ones. Obviously, this will depend on the dispersal ability of the species.

The experts on natural resources management have proposed some measures to avoid the extinction of plants and animals. They suggest the conservation of unique habitats in which a warmer and more humid microclimate is established, and where temperate species took refuge during interglaciations. But, maybe, the most important proposal is the creation of natural corridors in our landscapes in order to allow species to migrate. This would imply a better management of industrial and agricultural surfaces on the territory and a planed infrastructure policy. Without any doubt this is a very difficult solution, but governments have to make an effort if they want to avoid this huge loss of biodiversity.

Hello everybody!
What I would like to tell you today is related to endangered animals in Spain.

More and more species are becoming extinct in the world. It is a fact that Spain contains several geographically diverse regions with different climates and terrain within its borders which means there is a great variety of animals indigenous to Spain. Actually, there are about 25 species of mammals in Spain which are rated as critically endangered, endangered or vulnerable in the 2003 IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals.

We all know about the Iberian lynx which can only be found in Spain, but there are others like the Mediterranean monk seal, the Blue Whale, or the European Mink, which are also endangered. Mediterranean monk seal, for instance, used to be an abundant species. The main threat facing this mammal is the deliberate killing by fishermen who perceive the species as a competitor for fish.

Spain also has a considerable amount of land marked off as nature reserves in order to preserve and protect wildlife in Spain. Today, despite improvements in wildlife conservation programs in Spain, numbers of brown bears in Spain have dwindled to only 100. Under the circumstances, the situation can only be improved if we all become aware of the real situation, because there is still a lot to be done.

My experience at the university

What I want to tell you today is my experience in the study of an official master at the university: Management in tourism enterprises

First of all I have to say that I have been working for 20 years so when I left my studies of tourism it was quite different than today

The degree of tourism at university takes three years. Since last year the university have started a grade of tourism for 2 more years, it is official and follows the new system of studies signed in Bolonia
The first year there are 21 subjects and the second year there are 11 subjects. Then you have to make a training period in an enterprise and then a Final Master Project.

The master is very interesting but there are so many works to do at home. Each lecturer asks you to make a study that you have to bring at the end of the course.
We have 60 credits the first year. We have to use 25 hours of study at home for each credit, what means 1500 hours a part from courses. Bolonia gives more importance to work outside the university that work inside it. Students are so busy that they can not make a good investigation about any subject. There is not time enough to make it.

On the other hand, scholarships will be reduced. Banks are going to give loans, and students will be in doubt with bank and pay an interest for it. New students will not have the same opportunities to study at university, it will be easier for rich people.

An advantage of this change is that with this grade you can work in Spain or in Europe.

To conclude, Bolonia is already at Spain, and there have been not information about how it works. Now that people see the disadvantage is when are protests at the street. But now it is too late to change the program.
